Reflections: Being Neighborly

Yesterday was 'yardwork day' for me: the whole mow/edge/blow usual routine which happens every week or two.  While on my last segment of edging and pausing to refill my trimmer spool, I noticed that at the house on the opposite side of the cul-de-sac (which protrudes off of the street upon which I live) there was a mom who was instructing her son on how to use a flat shovel to 'edge' the driveway and sidewalks. The Beauty of a Bowl

There is a certain beauty in the shape of some things. For me - recently - it is in the simple classic shape of a white bone china bowl. This particular bowl [or shall I say this SET of 4 bowls] is an addition to my everyday, casual to formal, set of simple white bone china which I use to eat off of.  But no bowls? No. I've been using shallow pasta bowls, or smaller 2-handled [vintage] broth bowls for times when I would have used a round bowl. But now... now I have this sweet deep round bowl for cereal or for whatever I want, lol. And there is SOMETHING - Something about the shape which is just ASKING to be filled with Rice and veggies and perhaps some meat of some sort - something HEARTY and FILLING and SATISFYING to the soul... and there is CONTENTMENT and PEACE with that feeling. This is Pure Imagination LIVING! This is seeing BEAUTY in the EVERYDAY of life! This is Me. Rachel
