Candy Girl

[August 25th]
"Mom, you are such a Candy Girl." - words spoken to me by my daughter recently while we were out running errands.

We were at the end of a long day of errands [one of those days where you are so tired that you go pick up fast food for dinner] and I had parked in a space so we could eat a little food before deciding if we wanted to make any more stops, or just go on home. It was while parked that I saw THAT STORE [Party City] and perked up, which led to my daughter making the afore mentioned comment. But it's true - I like candy.

I like candy so much that I requested a cotton candy machine for my 50th birthday. I like happy things. I like chocolate donuts with multicolored sprinkles on them. I like ice cream, and purple icing to spread onto squares of cake. I like to pin cute and creative food presentation ideas [many involving sweets]. And I have a sealed container in my bedroom where I keep a personal stash of goodies.

Yes, I am aware of dental risks and health risks [incentive to exercise regularly - or at least to try to - and to have good oral hygiene]. But for me the whole 'candy' interest is more evocative of the beauty and wonderment of a child... and - as an adult - of tapping into that beautiful spontaneous JOY which children can feel and express without reservation. So why not do so as adults, too?

This is part of my determination to live a Pure Imagination life!

Here's to the [spontaneous] JOY of living.

[September 18th update]
It may be only September, but I am in a Halloween candy kind of mood [plus my stash was down to a few Jolly Rancher pieces, now mixed into the picture shown above, lol]. Not shown are the 2 Reese's Pumpkins which I traded Linz a couple of pieces of my stash for... because they were my dessert after dinner last night.

Never stop emotionally feeding the kid who lives inside of you. This is where the Joy of Living resides!

Accepting My Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity - being Neurodivergent A life of being atypical... different from mainstream society. I am still in the Discovery phase. -- Should I even be writing about it? For me, this looks like: * HSP: Highly Sensitive Person (common name) or Sensory Processing Sensitivity (medical name, and different from Sensory Processing Disorder, which is an emotional regulation disorder). You can look into the work of Dr. Elaine Aron (and others) for specifics regarding this Genetic Condition (like eye color) which is found in 15-20% of humans (plus more than 100 species of animals). HSP relates to how the brain processes information and can sometimes be misdiagnosed as BPD, ADHD, and/or other Spectrum disorders. * ADHD (mild): undiagnosed professionally yet strongly suspected. Looking at female symptoms/criteria, the indicators are there. * CPTSD: undiagnosed professionally (as a whole), yet I HAVE been professionally diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression (both...

An Introduction to My Pure Imagination Life

Welcome to my little world. This blog is just another step in this crazy journey which has been my life. It is the result of me deciding to begin living life NOW instead of waiting for [this] or [that] to happen first. It is my rainbow following tears. It is joy after sadness. It is the strength which I am discovering about myself. This is me allowing the artistic creative person who I am to be set FREE in expressing herself. It is me... well... me basically saying "screw it" to confining boxes and role-playing and being influenced by comments regarding the 'appropriateness' [or not] of anything relating to my life and how I am choosing to live it (past, present, and future). Welcome to my life. Take a walk with me while I paint and sew and create 'stuff' for the sheer joy of adding Beauty to my world. Watch me take chances and 'wing-it' in unfamiliar territories, lol. And allow me the opportunity to be honest about who I am and what I need and how I a...

Kinetic Sand: mixing the perfect color

Kinetic Sand - I think that it is one of those textural products [like slime or Silly Putty or even playdough] which people seem to either love to play with.... or just absolutely CANNOT STAND, lol. My first experience with the product was when I was wanting a personal sandbox and [without understanding what the product really was] decided to purchase a 'sandbox set' which included natural-colored Kinetic sand with play tools in a cardboard box. I didn't like it. It had an 'off' smell to me, and the sand didn't act like damp beach sand. But then [years later] I began to see Instagram posts [videos] of people slicing thru colored sand and the sound of it was just so AMAZING that I decided to research the product. What I learned from reviews is that more than a few people have not liked the smell of the 'natural' sand by Kinetic Sand, nor have they liked the coarser and larger grain size of the specific product. So I decided to try Kinetic sand once agai...
